  2. Atria: The atria are the two upper chambers of the heart. When the electrical impulses from the SA node reach the atria, they cause the atrial muscle fibers to contract, facilitating the filling of the ventricles with blood.
  3. Atrioventricular Node (AV Node): The AV node is located at the base of the right atrium near the septum. It acts as a relay station that delays the electrical impulses for a brief moment. This delay allows the atria to contract fully and ensures that the ventricles have enough time to fill with blood before contracting.
  4. Atrioventricular Bundle (Bundle of His): After passing through the AV node, the electrical impulses travel down a bundle of specialized fibers known as the Bundle of His. This bundle conducts the impulses rapidly from the atria to the ventricles.
  5. Right and Left Bundle Branches: The Bundle of His divides into two branches, the right bundle branch and the left bundle branch. These branches extend along the interventricular septum, transmitting the impulses to the ventricles.
  6. Purkinje Fibers: The bundle branches further divide into smaller fibers called Purkinje fibers, which spread throughout the ventricles. These fibers rapidly distribute the electrical impulses across the ventricular muscle, causing synchronized and forceful contractions.
  7. Ventricles: The ventricles are the two lower chambers of the heart. When the electrical impulses reach the Purkinje fibers, they trigger the ventricles to contract. This coordinated contraction sequence propels blood out of the heart into the arteries, facilitating circulation to the rest of the body.

The cardiac conduction system ensures that the heart's contractions are coordinated and efficient.
