- After a period of time, the dialysate is drained, along with the waste and excess fluids, out of the body.
Dialysis is a life-sustaining treatment for individuals with kidney failure. It helps to remove waste products, control blood pressure, manage electrolyte levels, and maintain fluid balance. The decision to start dialysis is typically based on factors such as the patient's kidney function, symptoms, overall health, and preferences.
